How do I measure for a brace?
Finding the right size for your body is important to ensure comfort and stability. Each item on our website has a Measuring and Fit guide to help you find the right size. Follow the instructions on the sizing guide. You will need measuring tape – preferably cloth like the kind a seamstress would use. If you do not have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and a ruler. Please feel free to ask for help if needed.
What if I’m between sizes? Should I purchase the smaller or larger size?
Choose the larger size for a more gentle compression or the smaller size for a more firm compression. When between sizes, the average person prefers the smaller size for a more secure fit, unless you are sensitive to compression. If you are unsure what size you need, contact our experts and we’ll be happy to help.
How tight should my brace be?
Your brace should support you firmly but not be so tight that it feels like it’s interfering with circulation. You should not feel squeezing discomfort while you are wearing the brace.
Other supports don’t fit my body correctly. Will Bauerfeind?

I can only wear other supports for a short time before they are uncomfortable. How is Bauerfeind different?
Bauerfeind products are designed to be the most comfortable braces and supports you will ever wear. Our patented soft knit material, extreme comfort, and exceptional support define each product. There’s no bunching or pinching of the skin. The “graduated compression” at the edges prevents the product from rolling, slipping or constricting circulation. Care
Can I wash my brace?
Yes. Washing regularly helps our supports maintain their shape and last longer. All Bauerfeind supports are made with machine-washable materials. Here’s how to care for your brace:
- For products with Velcro straps, pads or inserts, remove them if possible, or fasten them securely at the place provided on the brace.
- Machine wash your brace in cold water using the gentle or delicate cycle.
- Wash separately using a laundry detergent with no additives (do not use fabric softener or Woolite).
- Lay your support flat and let it air-dry; do not put it in the dryer.
Proper washing and drying helps your knit support maintain its elasticity and original fit.
When I wear a brace, it causes me to sweat. How can I avoid this?
Bauerfeind braces are made of soft knit material, so they are breathable. The moisture-wicking fabric draws moisture away from your body to keep you dry. When needed, you can machine wash your Bauerfeind brace on the gentle cycle, air-dry it, and it will not lose its shape, elasticity, or original fit.
How long will it last?
Our products are built to stand the test of time. Our exclusive design and materials make for an extremely durable product. Elasticity does not change over time. Regular washing helps to extend the life of the support. Generally speaking, our customers report that Bauerfeind braces and supports last about 2 years. However, with proper care and use, some people report they get even longer life from their product.

What’s the difference between the Medical and Sports Supports lines?
Both lines offer medical-grade compression and will have the same benefits of healing, stability, and proprioception. Sports Supports are ideal for shorter bursts of intense activity, whereas Medical Supports are softer and more comfortable for all-day wear. Sports Supports are great for injury prevention, while Medical Supports are recommended for recovery from an injury.
The Sports Supports are designed with the athlete in mind. They are made with a unique 3D AirKnit fabric that is 30% lighter, more breathable, and moisture-wicking than the Medical Supports line. They also incorporate new “gripping zones” to help the support stay in place during movement.
What’s the difference between GenuTrain, GenuTrain A3, GenuTrain P3 and GenuTrain S?
Each brace is designed specifically for a different type of injury or pain. You can find comprehensive information, as well as a comparison chart, on the Product Details page. Here’s an overview:
- GenuTrain® is designed for weak, swollen or painful knees. It is best for nagging pain such as tendinitis/jumper’s knee.
- GenuTrain P3® relieves pain caused by misalignment of the kneecap or tracking issues.
- GenuTrain A3® is designed for degenerative knee pain such as osteoarthritis, middle knee injuries, or pain on the inner side of the knee.
- GenuTrain S® is best for more advanced osteoarthritis of the knee, rheumatoid arthritis, bone-on-bone arthritis, or MCL/LCL ligament injuries.

Shipping, Returns & Warranty
Can I have my order delivered to my door?
Yes, of course we ship orders all over Greece.
How long will it take to receive my product?
Within the Attica region, deliveries are immediate within 2 days, while in the provinces it takes approximately 2-5 days.
What is the return policy?
You can return a product within 14 calendar days from the day of delivery, provided the product is in excellent condition, its packaging has not been altered, and the product has not been used. You may also withdraw from the purchase of the product within 14 days from the day of delivery provided the product is in excellent condition. If the above conditions are not met, the company reserves the right to refuse the product’s return.
In case such a return is accepted for special reasons, the company will reimburse part of the price within 14 days from receiving the returned product, which will be determined on a case-by-case basis according to the condition of the product. The right to withdraw and return products does not apply in the case of special orders, made-to-order products, or products that are manufactured according to the consumer’s specifications or are clearly personalized.
The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the products. All products are inspected as much as possible before shipment from our company. If you find upon receipt that the product has any defect, the warranty procedure must be followed, and you need to contact us immediately so that we can inform you about this process.
If incorrect products were sent due to our fault, then return the product after contacting the relevant department of our company; at our expense we will replace it without additional charges.
In any case, the product must be accompanied by a copy of the “Sales Receipt”.

Is there a warranty?
Yes. We want you to be 100% satisfied with Bauerfeind products. Our products come with a one-year warranty. The compression insert has a 30-day manufacturer’s warranty. We guarantee that Bauerfeind products do not have manufacturing defects. However, if there is a reason for a change, we will either replace the product for you. (Normal wear and tear during the use of the product is not considered a defect.) If the product has not been washed or cared for properly, this could void the warranty replacement.
Insurance & Prescription
Do you serve patients through insurance funds? How can I know if the item I am interested in is covered?
Our company is a contracted provider with the National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPYY). Regarding the item you are interested in, our staff will fully inform you.
I have a doctor’s prescription, but I can’t find the product I need on the site. Can you help me?

How long can I wear my product?
This depends on your individual condition and activity. Some people wear a brace only when performing an activity that causes them pain or discomfort, such as participating in a sport or carrying luggage through the airport. Other people wear it all day, every day. Some people combine both, depending on their day. It depends on you how long you want to wear our products. However, we recommend not sleeping in them due to compression, reduced movement, and functionality while asleep.
Can we wear our products during sports activities?
Bauerfeind products provide flexibility and support and allow you to perform your favorite sports. For sports where the brace will have multiple impacts with the court or other hard surfaces, remember that the brace does not replace a knee. Not using knee pads can lead to excessive wear that is not covered by the product warranty.
